Soaked through with humour and irony, Bertolt Brecht's play with music The Threepenny Opera will be making it to the Újszeged Open-Air Stage for the first time. This piece brought Brecht his first real breakthrough, and its popularity has never faded. Some of the tunes, such as Mack the Knife, which is also the name of the male protagonist, will be familiar to many viewers. Brecht's most popular musical piece is being staged by Jászai Mari Award-winning director László Bocsárdi, director of the Tamási Áron Theatre in the Transylvanian city of Sepsiszentgyörgy (Sfântu Gheorghe).
